REVIEW SPEED LIMIT ON WEST I35W SERVICE DRIVE FROM 85^TH AVENUE TO 95^TH AVENUE

Background

The city received an email from a business on this corridor concerned with the speed of traffic on the service drive between 85^th Avenue and 95^th Avenue, see attached map.  Their concern was the volume and speed of traffic creating an unsafe condition for their employees and customers trying to turn into their business and others along this stretch of road.  The corridor is currently posted at 50 mph.

Recommendation

Have staff collect traffic data, deploy the traffic unit for enforcement.  If the data collection and enforcement indicate a speeding issue, request MNDoT to conduct a speed study on the corridor as area has developed since the original posting.
