PUBLIC HEARING - Dan Schluender, City Engineer
Title
REVIEW TRAFFIC CONTROL AND TRAFFIC CALMING OPTIONS ON THE CORRIDOR OF 121ST AVENUE AND JEFFERSON STREET FROM UNIVERSITY AVENUE TO 125TH AVENUE
Background
At their October 18, 2018 meeting, the City Council approved a preliminary plat for a development project on the corner of 125th Avenue and Jefferson Street. As part of the approvals, the development is required to complete the construction of Jefferson Street that will extend/connect Jefferson Street from 121st Avenue to 125th Avenue. Council had several concerns about the existing 121st Avenue as it related to traffic calming and pedestrian safety. They requested that the Traffic Commission hold a neighborhood meeting to receive input, review traffic calming measures, and traffic control.
Recommendation
Traffic Commission review traffic calming and traffic control measures on the 121st Avenue/Jefferson Street corridor, receive neighborhood input, and make recommendations to the City Council for consideration.
