Executive Summary
City staff will present to the Park Board the ratings from our trails assessment and will discuss a 5-year plan to do necessary maintenance to upgrade the ratings of our lower rated trails.
Background
A trails assessment was performed by Braun Intertec starting last fall and they have completed 48 of the 76 miles of trail this past summer. The assessment was to perform a PCI (Pavement Conditions Index) rating of all the city trails and city parking lots in Blaine. Staff will present some of the findings along with a cost estimate of yearly maintenance for the next five years. At the November Park Board meeting staff will bring back the final Parks and Trails and Parks CIP budgets for final recommendation. All recommendations by the Park Board will be brought to the City Council in December for final approval.
