Background
Happy Acres Parking Lot - First bid was over budget and the bid was rejected. Advertisement for bid is currently posted and bid opening is scheduled for August 4. The parking lot is being bid with an alternate bid for the bridge and stormwater portion.
Band shell update - Staff presented to the council on July 11. ISG is revising the roof and front of the stage in their concept. We hope to have the final design done by late July.
Court projects - The court projects bid for Carrara East, Centennial Green and Territorial Parks came back high. Staff will be bringing an item to council in August to accept the original bid and then accept a change order, from the contractor, to deduct Carrara East from the project.
Staff met with members from Flagship Recreation and Landscape Structures, along with Debra Miller on Friday to discuss a partnership for reconstructing Deacon’s Park. Debra’s daughter Vanessa Miller had a disability but loved playing in our parks. Vanessa passed away last February, and Deb is in the process of starting a foundation in her memory. Staff is also trying to partner with 3M on the project.
